Who should apply and who is eligible?
An EIS contributor who retrench by employer or Loss of Employment. The definition of Loss of Employment (LOE) includes:
- Normal retrenchment and redundancy
- VSS/MSS (Voluntary/Mutual Separation Scheme)
- Closure of the company due to natural disasters
- Bankruptcy or closure of the company
- Constructive dismissal
- Resignation due to sexual harassment or threats made in the workplace
- Resignation after being ordered to perform dangerous duties that are not within the job scope
Who is an EIS?
The Employment Insurance System Act covers all workers who are
- Malaysian citizens / permanent residents
- Aged 18-60*
- Working in the private sector**
- Employed based on a contract of service
- Important exception: Workers aged 57 and above who have never paid contributions before that age are NOT covered by the EIS Act and are NOT required to contribute
** The EIS Act does NOT cover domestic workers, the self-employed, civil servants, and workers in local authorities and statutory bodies.
What conditions should fulfill this application?
- Apply within 60 days after their Loss of Employment (LOE).
- Meet our Contributions Qualifying Conditions (CQC) (i.e. must have paid contributions to SOCSO EIS for a minimum number of months within a specified period).
- Be unemployed under our definition of Loss of Employment (LOE)

Public Training
Attend the training at our computer lab based on the given date.
- Date: Between July 2020 - until the program ends
- Venue: B-10-6, Level 10, Tower B, Megan Avenue 2, No 12 Jalan Yap Kwan Seng 50450 Kuala Lumpur.
- Included: Food & Drinks, Certificate, Computer to use, Expert Trainer
- Language: Bahasa Melayu & English
- All attendees will get RM 30 allowance per day.

Are you Loss of Employment or Being Terminated by your employer?
Check if you have the eligibility requirements as above.
Step 2
To Apply
- Applicants are advised to submit the applications early to ensure approval is given before the commencement of the training.
- An applicant can apply by walk-in at any PERKESO office or through online here https://eis.perkeso.gov.my/eisportal/insured/appl/check within 60 days after their Loss of Employment (LOE).
- There’s a few documents needed:-
i) A copy of NRIC
ii) Proof of Loss of Employment (LOE), e.g termination letter
iii) A copy of bank information
iv) Payslips for last 6 months
Step 3
Check your status
The APPROVED or REJECTED status will be notified of the decision via email or phone call by PERKESO. Once successful, training provider will contact participants to give training information such as the training date dan location.
Step 4
Attend Training
Your attendance will be taken by a training provider.
