Mobile Application Development Training with Ministry of Health

A total of 20 participants from Ministry of Health has participated in Mobile Application Development Training at MU DOT MY PLT Training Centre. This training has been held for 3 days on 14 to 16 November 2016. Training was conducted by our professional trainer.

The main objective for Microsoft Access training is to enable the user to develop mobile application easily WITHOUT PROGRAMMING and export it to 3 different platforms. The applications can be exported to Apple App store, Google Play and Windows Store. Several examples of application that can be developed are eForm Application, Notification Application, Geolocation Application, Multimedia Application, Login Application and many more.

On average, participants are excited about the training organized due to the usefulness of this course and it’s beneficial to those who are directly involved in the control of data acquisition.

Dirty COW Linux Vulnerability CVE-2016-5195

On October 19, 2016, a privilege escalation vulnerability in the Linux kernel was disclosed. The vulnerability nicknamed Dirty COW because of the issue copy-on-write (COW). Dirty COW has existed for a long time — at least since 2007 and the majority of servers are at risk now!

Joomla Security Patch! Update immediately on this Tuesday.

A high-security problem is identified in Joomla! CMS and will be patched on this Tuesday.

All websites that used Joomla! need to update to the latest version and make sure the latest patch is updated as it becomes available on Tuesday.

Failure to do so will result in hackers hacking Joomla!’s website that is outdated.

To protect the user, no public disclosure is made regarding this issue.

According to Sam Suresh, who is also a member of Joomla! Working group in this problem is quite serious and need to be posted immediately.

2nd WordPress Meetup KL 2016

Recently, MU DOT MY PLT hosted Second WordPress Meetup Kuala Lumpur for 2016. The event was held on 3 September 2016 at the Computer Lab MU DOT MY PLT, Subang Jaya.

Those who attended the WordPress Meetup Kuala Lumpur in 2016 are local WordPress developers, designers, and publishers together to share knowledge and experience, and to meet with WordPress users around Malaysia and abroad. WordPress Meetup is open to all who love WordPress.

PESIMA Open Day Seminar 2016

OPEN DAY SEMINAR PESIMA YEAR 2016

In collaboration with The Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU), Persatuan Penolong Pegawai Teknologi Maklumat Malaysia (PESIMA) has organized seminars and PPTM Open Day 2016.

The seminar was dated on 26 September 2016 and started at 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. It was held at Dewan Sri Lestari Level B1, Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (MRRD) Putrajaya. The seminar discussed the prospect of the science of ideas, views and knowledge in Information and Communication Technology.

The seminar was participated by 300 participants of Information Technology Assistant Officer from the Ministry, Government’s Department and Agency and Secretary of States (SUK).

This year JoomlaDay Malaysia 2016 was held on 13th August at Microsoft Malaysia, KLCC, Kuala Lumpur. This event brings together Joomla! enthusiasts, experts, educators, and influencers.

This year event attracted more than 200 participants from all over Malaysia. This event was sponsored by Joomshaper, MU DOT MY PLT, Microsoft, Astiotech and OpenSourceMatters.

This event was fully managed by MU DOT MY PLT.

This year speakers featured Tessa Mero, Sam Suresh, Sanjay Willie and Dinesh Nair and other local speakers.

Topics covered including Joomla! And Mobile Apps for Joomla Development, Security and Performance Monitoring of Joomla, Learning APIs, Cloud and The Hidden Secrets of Joomla by Sam Suresh.

WordPress Meetup Kuala Lumpur 2016

WordPress Meetup Kuala Lumpur is the first ever meetup organised by WordPress in Malaysia. The meetup will be held in Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) on May 2016.

WordPress is one of the most popular content management system (CMS) in the world for creating website. WordPress is capable to build any kind of website, from a simple blog to full-featured business website and you can also develop an online store using WordPress pre-installed features Woocommerce Plugin.

WordPress is a very powerful CMS that is easy to use, and you do not need any coding or design skill to create aprofessional looking site. With WordPress it’s easy to build your website without writing a single line of code or knowing anything about HTML.

The meetup is open to the public who have an interest in WordPress or anyone wishes to learn about WordPress. During the meetup, we will discuss about WordPress, Plan the yearly calendar and upcoming events.

Provider Based Evaluation (PROBE) 2016

PROBE (Provider Based Evaluation) or before this known as MGPWA has been released for 2016!

There are two categories that must be fulfilled in order to achieve the standard set by PROBE 2016 :-

  • Mandatory Category: Any government agency which does not meet these criteria will be downgraded to 3 Star or below rating website (The valuation will be done by MDEC)
  • Non-Mandatory Category: Refers to the use of GOS to generate opportunities via greater people participation. The marks will be deducted if the Agencies do not fulfill the Non-mandatory criteria.

There are 2 New requirements in PROBE 2016

  • Mobile Web Application – Website must utilise responsive mobile web design
  • Active Hyperlink – All hyperlinks on the the website must be active

JET AWARD 2016 & JandBeyond 2016 (JAB 2016)

Our Trainer, Sam has been selected to receive JET Award from Joomla! to attend the JandBeyond International Conference (JAB 2016) on 20 – 22 May 2016 at Barcelona, Spain. He is the first community member in Malaysia and the only member in Asia to received JET Award this year.

Sam is selected due to his contributions towards Joomla! community. Besides, there are 8 community members from all over the world were also selected to attend the program. They are from Uganda, Ukraine, Italy, Portugal, USA, Brazil, Argentina and Kenya.

All selected members will receive sponsorship in the forms of airlines ticket, travel and accommodation as per agreed with the organizer.

Sam served as Joomla! community member since 2009 and on 2014 he became the team leader for Joomla! Certification Platform Program.

JET Program is one of the initiatives that was created to support the volunteers and all active community member which contributed their energy and time to improve Joomla!
