Flagship WordCamp Asia 2023 Conference

WordCampAsia 2023 is Asia’s first of its kind. WordCamp has previously taken place in the United States, Europe, and Central America, but this is the first time it will take place in Asia.

Considering Thailand is located in the middle of Asia, it was decided to hold WordCamp Asia’s inaugural event in Bangkok. Accessibility from everywhere, mesmerizing monuments, delectable cuisine, and amiable locals

WordCamp 2023 will take place over three days, beginning on February 17th and ending on February 19th, with a flat ticket price of 800 Baht for all days except the first if you do not have a contributor day ticket. Presentations, sponsor showcases, contributions, and social events will be held for over 1,300 attendees from around the world to witness the WordPress training Lollapalooza.

We are excited to announce that MU DOT MY will be attending WordCamp Asia 2023 as one of its organizers. Sam Suresh, CEO, and Founder of MU DOT MY was selected to be a global co-lead for WordCamp Asia 2023 as well as the initially scheduled WordCamp Asia in 2020 at a gathering of the most esteemed WordPress specialists in Asia. MU DOT MY provides training to organizations and people that wish to advance their careers.

Global eLearning Conference 2022

We are excited to announce that MU DOT MY is joining the Global eLearning Conference 2022 set in the beautiful city of Barcelona, Spain, this year’s Global eLearning Conference known as #MoodleMoot is focused on the future of education, as a rare opportunity to come together is given to at least 600 delegates from around the world. The conference will be held at Hotel Barceló Sants, a lovely resort in what is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Founder’s Appearance

The appearance of Martin Dougiamas, Founder and CEO of one of the world’s most prominent online learning systems, is one of the highlights of the Global eLearning Conference 2022. A true pioneer in the field, hearing him speak in person is an opportunity not to be missed! Representatives from universities worldwide will be present, including but not limited to University College London, North Carolina State University, the University of Helsinki, and the University of Montreal.

Join Web Fest Asia 2020

MU DOT MY is excited to be supporting Asia’s Largest Web Conference dubbed The Web Fest Asia. Additionally, we are also proud to announce  that our Founder, SAM SURESH will be leading a session at the upcoming event. 

Sam Suresh, who is an industry veteran, will be conducting a 40-minute talk where he will touch on topics related to Building Online Shop with WooCommerce and WordPress with Payment Gateways. This will be beneficial especially for those who would like to know more about getting started with the content management system and its e-commerce plugin.  

Attendees of the Web Fest Asia will be able to learn more thanks to Sam’s expertise in various open software projects. Currently, he is serving as Global Community Deputy at WordPress which powers 38% of the web. In the past, Sam has spoken in more than 15 countries including Europe. Sam also was appointed as a consultant by the Department of State, USA. In 2018 MDEC appointed him to train 400+ digital marketing trainers nationwide. Those trainers have since gone on to train thousands of business owners nationwide.

There’s a lot of exciting things in store at  Web Fest Asia which will be happening this 27-28th of October 2020 from 9.30am to 5.30pm. This annual event will be conducted virtually for the first time ever and will be accessible to everyone via Zoom Webinar. 

Web Fest Asia is an emerging and entrepreneurial medium within the screen ecology, a disruptive and innovative way to engage audiences. Today, digital series creators continue to drive the storytelling revolution, as web-based platforms and networks are becoming the norm for audiences in consuming content.

Our “captain” will be speaking alongside other renowned experts including Piktochart CEO Goh Ai Ching,  PT. Microsoft Indonesia Senior Partner Development Manager Juliana, Accenture Interactive Design Lead (Customer Experience)  Jan Takacs, and WebMedic Founder Faisal Hourani.

They seek to recognize and reward the outstanding performance, talent and effort of the best web developers, web designers and web agencies in the country. The Malaysia Website Awards (MWA) 2019 was held on 13 Feb 2020, located at Colony Star Boulevard KLCC.

The awards featured in MWA  revolves around major three awards, namely Site Of The Month Awards, Favourite Website,  and the grand prize, the Site Of The Year Awards. In contrast to the Site Of The Year Awards and Site Of The Month Awards mentioned earlier, which the winner is determined based on the judge’s evaluation, the winner of the Favourite Website Awards is decided mostly by public vote. Regardless of which, contestants still participate and compete for these awards according to their categories, namely Commercial, Personal and E-Commerce.

As for The Malaysia Website Award (MWA) 2019, this programme is focusing mainly on handing over Site Of The Year and Site Of The Month awards, trophies and certificates to all the winners.

When it comes to competition awards, judges play an important role in utilizing their expertise to fairly and carefully assess contestants effort and evaluating their work based on the rubrics and requirements set by the organizer. For this reason, the judges for this award had been chosen from several highly regarded industry experts, professional, and veterans to gain trust from the public, while offering plausible and reasonable results during the awards that take place. Sam Suresh from MU DOT MY is one of the expert judges for MWA 2019.

Given that the award winner was judged by highly regarded figures, coupled with the award programme itself which only held once a year, it’s no wonder that the competition for these awards was notably competitive, with a large number of participants competing with each other while representing their website, with the intention to grab the grand prize, which is The Site Of The Year Awards.

Recap Google Webmaster Conference

Webmaster Conference Kuala Lumpur was organized by Google on 2 August 2019. This was the first Webmaster Conference Google held in Kuala Lumpur. This events focus on the website’s performance on Google Search. Hosted by Google Search team, Webmaster Conference Kuala Lumpur was attended by website owners, digital marketers, web developers, and SEO professionals. 

Talks

Googlers and industry experts shared an abundance of SEO best practices, corrective perception on genuine SEO, broaden our views on how we can excel in this vibrant organic search world!

From the talks, attendees get latest updates on Google Search, participate in discussions on website optimization best practices, and learn how they can enhance their website’s performance in Search from the  industry experts and Google Search team.

Many activities during the talk session. The talk started with people connections and community building, where attendees needed to record 10 new friends in order to redeem their swag from Google! 

There was also a quiz session regarding the talks that have been given. Participants with the most correct answers got the limited edition Google thermo flask.

Panel Discussion

Besides talk, there was panel discussion among the Googlers and industry experts which was very interactive. Topic discussed based on building great website and enhancing the website’s performance in Google Search.

JomLaunch – Conference For Local ICT Officers of Malaysia 2019

JomLaunch is a platform for the community members to launch any IT-related products.

JomLaunch was an exciting event to be enjoyed by all people of all ages.  It was held in MaGIC Cyberjaya on the 9th of November 2019. JomLaunch was created and driven by the local development community aims to enhance the IT industry ecosystem in Malaysia. 

JomLaunch is a platform for the community members to launch any IT-related products and by doing this it helps with the community, open source, private and commercial projects. This conference was a great way of sharing knowledge and experience with the participants and contributors, by doing so it could further enhance the local IT industry to a higher level of understanding.

Talks starts at 9:20 end 4:30

The conference hall opened around 8am, where participants could register and get their pass, while breakfast was served in the lunch hall. The talk started at 9:20am had, some talks were in English and some were in Malay. 

The CEO of MaGIC, Dzuleira Abu Bakar and Secretary General, Ministry of Entrepreneur Development Malaysia, Wan Suraya were also an attendee in JomLaunch. They had At the interview session with JomLaunch host and Question & Answer session with the audience. This year there are lots of interesting IT companies starting up or launching at JomLaunch and some of the companies were iQMS, Pandai, cHeart, RunCloud, ect.

The lunch started around 1:20 pm, food was provided for the participants. Coffee and tea were also serve to keep everyone on their toes. During this time, participants were also able to walk around the exhibitor room where many IT-related start-up booths were opened. Participants got the chance to talk and interact with the local IT industry. Before the second half of the talk began, there was a performance by Color of Voices, a group of six members from Malaysia with all different cultural backgrounds.

All in all, this event was a major success and had lots of impact on the local IT businesses. It also gives confidence to young IT workers who inspire to be a successful entrepreneur and career. We thank JomLaunch for inviting MU DOT MY to be one of the exhibitors there.
