WordPress 15th Anniversary Celebration in KL

In conjunction with WordPress 15th Anniversary, Exabytes is glad to be part of the sponsorship of WordPress Community Kuala Lumpur Malaysia to support this event. The celebration was held at Level 6 Setiawalk, Puchong office, which is also known as ExabytesEasySpace.

Around 60 participants including WordPress fans, sponsors and organizers participated in this event. The event started at 6pm and ended around 9pm. The participants came pouring in despite the heavy rain and slow traffic.

After the registration, Sam Suresh, the organizer started the event with an introduction about today’s agenda and a brief introduction about WordPress.

Next, Rindy Portfolio, the other speaker of the event continued to share about the chronological improvement of WordPress and mentioned about the next version of WordPress 5.0, Gutenberg. The most important feature is WordPress users are able to change all the settings in real-time which is similar to WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) functionality.

Can’t wait to try the next version? The good news is you can have the live demo at https://testgutenberg.com/. For more documentation and official announcement, you can read them from https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/. Don’t forget to share your feedback withthe WordPress developers so that can improve even better.

Then, we had Eshaan Menon who shared his thoughts on HTTPS for WordPress, CMS and many other popular topics such as the most sought-after website platform in the world.

After that, David shared more interesting facts and information about WordPress. He introduced “Wapuu”, the official mascot of WordPress which many users had no idea about the history and design stories.

Currently, certain countries already have their localized Wapuu but Malaysia is yet to have our own official version. Interested to submit your version? You can read more at https://wapu.us/.

On the other hand, since it’s still the month of Ramadan, everyone “berbuka puasa” together with an irresistible spread such as pizzas, KFC, McDonald’s McChicken, local dessert and more. Needless to say, there was none left at the end of the meal!

The event was hyped up even more when Sam prepared an online quiz game where everyone can participate to win attractive prizes. All the questions were related to the sharing session before such as who is the founder of WordPress, who currently owns WordPress or who is the creator of Wapuu.

That was the time where got so excited because in order to get the highest score, not only do you have to answer correctly, but you have to be fast as well.

Other than Exabytes, Amanz and Mind Blow were also the main sponsors of the event for food and lucky draw prizes. One of the key highlights was the finale of the lucky draw prizes which ware 3 Vivo V5 perfect selfie smartphones worth RM1,299. Congratulation to all the winners and participants!

Vernon Chan from Mind Blow presented the Vivo V5 smartphone to the lucky winner.

Amanz, the other main sponsor of the event presented the lucky draw prize to the participant.

Finally, we wish WordPress a Happy 15th Birthday!
